About Western Cape Provincial Treasury
The Western Cape Provincial Treasury plays a major role in achieving the desired socio-economic and governance outcomes of the Western Cape by providing strategic financial leadership to the Western Cape Government provincial department, its public entities and municipalities. The Western Cape Government creates laws for and provides services to the people of the Western Cape. We work closely with the national government and municipalities in the Western Cape to ensure that the citizens of the province have access to the services, facilities and information they need. We are committed to delivering an open opportunity society for all.

Bursaries are available to Grade 12 learners and post- and undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in:

  • Economics
  • Accounting
  • Finance
  • Auditing
  • Supply Chain Management

Requirements

  • To qualify for a full-time bursary from the Provincial Treasury, you need to meet the following requirements:
  • Be a South African citizen who reside in the Western Cape
  • Be between 17 and 35 years’ old
  • Obtained an average of 60% or higher for the previous year of study at high school or university
  • Not in receipt of any other bursaries
  • (if a postgraduate applicant) already obtained a B. Degree within one or more of the targeted fields of study
