SANBI: Groen Sebenza invites Suitable Applicants to apply for Internship Programme 2021/2022 in South Africa.

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) contributes to South Africa’s sustainable development by facilitating access to biodiversity data, generating information and knowledge, building capacity, providing policy advice, showcasing and conserving biodiversity in its national botanical and zoological gardens. South African National Biodiversity Institute’s (SANBI) mandate, when it was established in 2004, required it to extend the focus of the precursor National Botanical Institute from just plants to include all aspects of biodiversity. Therefore, in addition to managing the National Botanical and Zoological Gardens, SANBI plays a leadership role in generating, co-ordinating and interpreting the knowledge and evidence required to support policies and decisions relating to all aspects of biodiversity.

Groen Sebenza is aimed at developing priority skills in the biodiversity sector to create sustainable job opportunities for unemployed graduates for a period of 2-3 years. Groen Sebenza brings young South Africans from previously disadvantaged backgrounds together with experienced biodiversity professionals to learn, grow and eventually gain the competence and confidence to embark on rewarding and meaningful biodiversity careers.

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) invites applications from suitably qualified graduates to apply for internships in the below mentioned fields.

  • Candidates must be enthusiastic and have a keen interest in biodiversity conservation.
