Job Purpose

Ensure that raw materials and components are procured and delivered on time and in full to meet the short-term production plan. Work closely with the Supply Plan Manager to best meet customer demand based on the short and long-term supply plan.

  • Execution of daily, weekly and monthly materials resource planning activities as per Planning Standard Work
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all areas of the all Production Schedulers, Procurement, Technical, Value streams, support functions and vendors
  • Ensure that all materials are available to meet the production plan agreed. In the event of material shortage, this should be escalated to Site Scheduling Manager and Site Scheduler
  • Provide vendors with weekly vendor schedules and monthly rolling forecasts and ensure that vendor constraints are escalated to the Site Scheduling Manager and relevant Production Scheduler/s and or Logistics Lead.
  • Joint control stock of intermediates, raw materials, printed materials, short dated inventory and rejected materials to ensure that write-off are minimized, and Days Inventory targets are met
  • Ensure all runout plans are completed and validated to ensure optimal execution to ensure minimal write-off cost
  • Ensure all information on materials changes (BOM) are correctly submitted as per requirement to ensure relevant changes are executed correctly.
  • Purchase Order Management in accordance to local Purchase Order Management SOPs, Inventory Management Policies, Vendor Agreements and Regulatory Requirements
  • Ensure that vendor pricing, lead-times and MOQs are adhered to when placing and confirming purchase orders or vendor schedules to support vendors delivering on-time and in-full
  • Ensure appropriate maintenance and review of MRP parameters (MOQ’s, lead-times, vendors, order policies, safety stock parameters)
  • Works closely with the Site Schedulers and Supply Planner to support the Rough-Cut Capacity Plan and ensure that it delivers an achievable plan in the 3-month time period
  • Ensure that New Product introduction activity is supported in an efficient and effective manner
  • Co-ordinate 3rd Party Rx contract packing process – agree, monitor and align production plan to meet customer orders, co-ordinate vendor deliveries, manage shop order release, inventory back flushing and reconciliation
  • Play a key role in ensuring the success of the SRM process for value streams
  • Maintain and improve the all Value Supply chain processes (SRM, pre-SRM, Demand Review, Capacity Review, OFM and SCIM) and supply chain systems
  • Maintain and improve the operating model for the South Africa Supply Chain with all associated Core Commercial Cycle processes (CCC) and systems (eg. SOLS, SAP etc.)
  • Ensures all relevant access to key applications to ensure all aspects of job function are met (e.g. Harmony, Track Wise, Escape etc.)
  • Attend and actively partake at all the applicable Scripted Meetings

Job-Related Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, procurement or supply planning role

  • Other Job-Related Skills/Background

    • Experience in a MRP
    • Knowledge of Purchasing and Inventory Management principles would be an advantage
    • Broad based knowledge of manufacturing, production and planning systems
    • Interest in Supply Chain Planning, Performance Monitoring and logistics processes, policies and procedures
    • Good English oral and writing skills
    • Computer literate
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple data sources
    • Self-motivated, able to improve performance, confident and resilient
    • Problem solving abilities suitable for handling multiple priorities
