About Tshwane SPCA

SPCA Tshwane covers approximately 6200 km2 and it stretches as far as Centurion, Bronkhorstspruit, Temba, Soshanguve and Hartebeespoort. As an animal welfare organisation we acknowledge all animals as sentient beings and strive to prevent their cruelty and exploitation. We aim to achieve this by proactively promoting animal welfare, enforcing animal protection legislation, and prosecuting offenders. Our mission is to maintain a high profile within the community through visibility and interaction. We strive to do so by deploying competent personnel who project enthusiasm and commitment, supported by education and community outreach programmes.

Do you have a passion for animal welfare and a strong desire to make a difference? The SPCA is searching for a dedicated and dynamic candidate to join our team as an Inspector Trainee for 2024! This is your chance to be part of a vital organization that protects animals from cruelty and neglect.

Ideal Candidates

– Be passionate about animal welfare, with excellent animal handling skills.
– Be confident with good leadership ability.
– Have excellent people skills, be self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
– Have good decision-making abilities and initiative, be a forward thinker but be willing to take advice and guidance.
– Have good time management, organisational, interpersonal and admin skills.
– Be able to grow and further enhance Boksburg SPCA’s reputation.

Minimum Requirements

– Grade 12.
– Valid Driver’s licence for code EB and own transport.
– Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
– Ability to compile detailed written reports.
– Maintain a high standard of ethics and discretion regarding sensitive information.
– Computer literate (not negotiable) – Microsoft Word, Excel, Email / scanning.
– Compassion for all animals.
– A SAPS Clearance Certificate will be required if the application is successful.
– Willingness to work an ‘on duty week’ per roster as well as afterhours / weekends should the need arise.
– Minimum two contactable references, one of which from an employer

Working Hours
Monday – Friday: 08h00 – 16h00
Saturday: 08h00 – 12h00 per duty roster.
Sunday & Public Holidays: Per duty roster.
