Yo Gotti began his music career at the age of 14, rapping  under the name Lil Yo, affiliated with DJ Sound and his crew. Yo Gotti released a string of independent albums between the year 2000 and 2006 . From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game in  the year 2000, Self-Explanatory in 2001, Life in 2003 and Back 2 da Basics in 2006.
